At Harley-Davidson
the "R" series replaced the "D"
with a 45 ci (approx. 750 cm3) V-twin
hence the name. This engine would come to be known as the Flat Head

Of the RL's past
we know that in 1966 it belonged to a collector in Rovigo
under the registration RO 35113
and in 1985 it was purchased by our collector from a Harley specialist in Milan. It had been restored and
since then
has undergone no particular intervention
so that it presents itself in attractive patinated condition. It's an interesting and unusual representative of America's most famous manufacturer
